Couples and family therapy in Ottawa

The people closest to us can bring out our best and our most painful patterns. Whether you're stuck in the same arguments, feeling distant, recovering from a breach of trust or trying to parent as a team, therapy can help you understand each other and find a better way forward.

Couples therapy

We help couples with:

  • Communication and recurring conflict

  • Trust and infidelity

  • Emotional, physical and sexual intimacy

  • Balancing roles, finances and household responsibilities

  • Parenting differences

  • Life transitions such as a new baby, a move, retirement or leaving the military

Family therapy

Family therapy looks at the family as a whole. It helps family members understand each other, communicate more clearly, solve problems together and manage conflict more effectively. We see families with children aged 5 and up, teens and adult children.

Parenting support

Parenting consultation helps you respond to your child's struggles with more calm and confidence. Rather than focusing only on behaviour, we look at the reasons your child may be having a hard time, including the extra pressures military families face with relocations and deployments.

How therapy can help

Therapy helps you see the patterns between you, shift the ones that hurt, and build a stronger, more satisfying relationship. You don't need to be in crisis to come, and you don't need to have decided whether to stay together.

Several of our therapists are Registered Marriage and Family Therapists (RMFT), a designation that requires specialized training in couple and family therapy.
